MONTAGE TIMBER FINISH
BLACKHOLE BLACKBUTT TIMBER VENEER
Its name derives from the tree’s appearance after bushfires, where the buttress or butt of the timber is significantly darkened. Its quick growth makes it an ideal plantation timber and is grown along the Australian Eastern Seaboard from NSW to Southern Queensland.
The heartwood and sapwood colours range from golden yellow to pale brown although a slightly pinkish colour can be present. Its even texture and generally straight grain add to its durability.
Blackbutt ranges in strong contrasting timber tones (light and dark) and a heavy wood grain with strong features.
