The Calibre collection is made with feature grade Blackbutt timbers. The bed is designed with a unique floating base system and a curved bedhead panel and curved handles making for a simple timeless design.

Blackbutt ranges show strong contrast in colour tones (light and dark), and heavy wood grain features including knots, fiddle back, gum vein, worm holes and course texture. This is considered a feature of this range and materials are selected to achieve this look. Please note, a light stain colour  will show more variation and contrast.

As with many Silver Lynx designs, the Calibre design has a wide array of bed options, including a gas lift slat system.

Blackbutt is a tall eucalyptus growing up to 75 metres high. It grows in the coastal forests of NSW from Bega on the south coast up to Maryborough in Queensland. After a bushfire, the lower trunk of the tree is dramatically darkened, hence the name Blackbutt.

Blackbutt is regarded as a hard, strong, tough and a high quality timber with uses in furniture, flooring, joinery, decking and sleepers. It is a fast growing tree that is suited to regeneration and is a common plantation timber.
