AMERICAN OAK TIMBER
American Oak is a variety of hardwood from the Quercus genus native to the eastern United States. Often referred to as American ‘White’ Oak in reference to the bark of the tree which has a white to ash grey colour.
American Oak is a popular imported timber with colour ranging from light-coloured sapwood to dark brownheartwood. Regarded for its overall clean appearance, American Oak is characterised by distinctive growth rings and medium grain texture, which will appear more or less prominent depending on the timber stain used.
American Oak is popular for use in fine furniture, flooring and architectural joinery due to its stability, attractive appearance and suitability to staining.
